Introducing IC4X’s SDM12_30M_22FDX: A Low-Noise, Wide-Band Continuous-Time ΣΔ ADC IP Solution

IC4X continues to innovate in the field of analog-to-digital conversion with the launch of the ADC12_30M_22FDX. This high-performance, low-noise, wide-band, continuous-time Sigma-Delta (ΣΔ) ADC is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern digital systems. It effectively converts fully differential analog input signals into an oversampled 4-bit data stream. A customizable decimator is available on request.

Performance and Key Specifications

The ADC12_30M_22FDX uses a fully frequency-agile input clock, allowing for flexible bandwidths between 7.5MHz up to 30MHz. This level of versatility is powered by an on-chip calibration engine. The full IP operates on a 0.9V power supply.

The ADC12_30M_22FDX features a compact ΣΔ modulator core area of 0.4mm², making it a perfect fit for I/Q receiver applications where an excellent 2:1 silicon aspect ratio is crucial. Additionally, its inherent anti-aliasing filter properties enhance signal integrity, mitigating out-of-band interferers.

To ensure compatibility with various systems, the ADC offers a CML clock input interface with a 600mVppd amplitude, and the optional Data Weighted Averaging (DWA) mismatch shaping further improves linearity and reduces harmonic distortion.
