Meet our founders
Prof. Dr. -Ing. Friedel Gerfers
Dr. Friedel Gerfers has built a distinguished career across both industry and academia. He is recognized as a leading architect of high-performance, high-bandwidth communication circuits and low-power GS/s ADCs and DACs. With over 15 years of experience in design, research, and teaching, Dr. Gerfers has made significant contributions to developing advanced analog and mixed-signal circuits. His career highlights include leading the development of high-speed analog-to-digital converters at Philips Semiconductor, pioneering ultralow-noise MEMS accelerometer technology at Intel Research, and serving as Technical Director at Aquantia Inc., where he developed 10 Gbase-T transceivers now in mass production. Since joining Integrated Device Technology in 2012, following Alvand Technologies’ acquisition, he has been directing R&D efforts on high-resolution, high-speed ADCs for wireless applications.
Dr. -Ing. Marcel Runge
Dr. Marcel Runge is co founder of IC4X GmbH. He earned his PhD from Technische Universität Berlin (Germany) in 2023, specializing in novel linearization techniques for wide-band multi-bit continuous-time delta-sigma modulators. During his career he was with Aquantia (USA), working in the TX-DAC design group for 10GBase-T Ethernet and KLA-Tencor (USA), where he researched highly parallel next-generation camera readout circuits.
