The collaborative “Cell-Free Massive MIMO Systems (MassIMO)” project aims to advance the development of a distributed multi-antenna system, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of 6th-generation mobile networks in Germany. A fully functional system, comprising distributed radio access nodes (APUs) and a virtual radio access unit (RAN Unit), is being created to showcase the benefits of this innovative network architecture.

As part of this initiative, IC4X is creating cutting-edge 1 GS/s I/Q data converters, specifically designed to enhance the efficiency of highly parallel radio access nodes. These state-of-the-art solutions are set to contribute to the next generation of wireless communication infrastructure.

The project is expected to deliver high data rates, enhanced reliability, and low latency, positioning it as a key step forward in next-generation mobile communications.
